FYI to the Web Controller and my neighbours!
The link to the Merricks Beach Resident Survey 2025 is a little tricky to open. It seems to require a 2 stage ‘click’, While I understand this just may be my technology, I have tested this 4 times with the same result and can only think that if I struggle, others may also have the same problem. So many peoples’ time and thoughts have gone into this so I think it is a wonderful resource to share. So, if you do struggle to open it on the first ‘click’ persevere. The survey offers some wonderful insights to our community and collective aspirations.
I look forward to hearing more about how the feedback will drive planning, including planning to remain the same wonderful Merricks Beach.

A few keys points worth considering should a follow up survey be planned.
I feel on topics like water should be one survey per household and better education with it eg For private line owners … 1. would you like to have your private line changed over to SE Water if there is no charge and free on going maintenance as other Merricks Beach owners have always enjoyed and most of our neighbouring townships . 2. If SE Water are running water through Merricks would you like to take up the opportunity to connect for free : A. ‘tap/s only’ for tank top ups and fire protection. B. Connect to the house and do away with tanks or C. Not interested now but like the option to maybe later to connect for a small fee.
The survey needs to be different for private line owners and tank water homes and those on SE Water now.
NB The block I am in now and adjoining block toward the main road already have a solid take up of private water and as I communicate with neighbours regularly I am aware that if such a survey were run you would see more like 90% take up which in no way reflects the results from the survey.
