Despite plans of our local community groups heading into summer, Omicron interrupted the events we would normally enjoy during the holidays were cancelled. The Sand Modelling Competition and Sausage Sizzle were among these, so I don’t have the usual content to offer the Summer Edition of Merricks Matters. The Fireguard training days were postponed again, Thursday nights at the Yacht Club were put on hold for a number of weeks and The Picnic in the Park at Bill Carroll Reserve was called off. Let’s hope that upcoming Easter activities can be enjoyed as I sure I am not alone in hoping we will have some action shots of the Easter races at Bill Carroll Reserve.
