As Merricks Beach residents will be all too well aware, traffic volumes and speed at and near the Merricks Beach Road intersection pose a continuous danger. Whilst, in response to representations by the MBRA, the shire council has agreed with our concerns, it is powerless to take either of the simple steps we have advocated: reducing the speed limit in Frankston-Flinders Road and painting double lines either side of the intersection, let alone to reshape the intersection itself.
