The MPSC has conducted a study using consultants Ethos Urban. Draft reports are available through the council website and feedback is encouraged by all residents by 7th July. Visit www.mornpen.vic.gov.au/Have-Your-Say. A drop in session will be conducted at Merricks Beach Saturday 29th June 10am – 12 noon Merricks Yacht Club Surf Street.
We understand the purpose of the study includes creating a statement of neighbourhood character for each village and that this statement may in some way reaffirm, renewing or modify the various planning overlays that protect our lovely village from overdevelopment. The MBRA submission has a focus on maintaining the village as it is and on retaining the protections against overdevelopment; it draws upon 2 major studies conducted over the last 10 years and also on recent feedback from community members. The MBRA’s submission is available on the website.
